ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE - Sells advertising time, writes commercial and promotional copy, and works closely with businesses to help them market themselves to the stations’ listeners.

 

DEPARTMENT: Sales STATUS: Exempt

REPORTS TO: General Sales Manager or Market/Station General Manager

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Account Executives develop new business through daily prospecting, cold calling and appointment setting. They also represent the Company’s radio stations to existing clients and advertising agencies in their market area, build and strengthen relationships that maintain and increase sales from current accounts, and offer special event and other promotional marketing opportunities such as internet marketing. They design, create and execute marketing campaigns to grow market/station revenue shares and to create results for their advertising clients.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

-Previous sales or marketing experience: previous broadcast sales experience preferred.
 

-Service existing clients to make sales budget goals.
 

-Prospect daily for new accounts.
 

-Responsible for collecting all accounts receivable from assigned clients.
 

-Develop marketing consultant skills that help create successful advertising campaigns for clients.
 

-Sell non-traditional, non-spot, internet, event and sponsorship programs in addition to regular commercial inventory.
 

-Exhibit excellent verbal, written and organizational skills.
 

-Attention to detail–ability to meet deadlines.
 

-Display strong work ethic.

 

-Possess ability to work independently.
 

-Have ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
